Update!

Long time, no see, deviants!

After deciding to give dA another try, I've restarted my efforts to upload AEM in its entirety right here on dA. The old chapters have been moved to my scraps and can still be viewable over there for the few folks out there who were attached to them, but otherwise, the new gallery is viewable over here.

I also hope to migrate a few other fanfics from Serebii/AO3 onto dA for shits and giggles and also because Braid is apparently making its rounds off somewhere in creepypasta land, so why not?

While I'm still here, I'd also like to take the time and apologize to a lot of folks I kinda left hanging a couple years ago after I romped right off dA the first time around. I have no idea who's still here or if anyone is still watching, but hey. I'd rather not make many promises about staying because I do that a lot on FFNet and have yet to return over there, but we'll see how things pan out, y'know?

Here's to hoping this time around's more long-lasting, amirite?

AEM Edit Spree

7 min read
So, with what's technically the third anniversary of AEM, I've decided to try getting all of the places where it's posted (save for one) completely updated.  That means edits everywhere!  o/  Hence, the fifth chapter is finally posted here, and the prologue and first chapter have been edited (including being placed in the right category as of when-did-that-happen).  The second through fourth chapters will be edited soon, and as the other chapters get updated everywhere, you'll be seeing more chapters added until, hopefully, this place catches up with SPPf, which holds the twenty-first chapter as of this writing.

I'm really excited about all of this.  Anima Ex Machina is pretty much my baby, and I've got a lot of awesome plans for it that are all going to be incredibly fun to go through.

Also, while I'm here, :iconbay115: tagged me, so you can blame her for the following shenanigans.

Also, you can blame this while you're at it:  www.youtube.com/watch?v=YElQGy…

1->You must post these rules (VERY Important )
2->Each person must post 10 things about themselves on their journal.
3->Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post, and create ten new questions for the people you tag to answer.
4->You have to choose 10 people to tag and post their icons on your journal.
5->Go to their pages and tell them you have tagged her/him.
6->No tag backs
7->No crap in the tagging section about "you are tagged if you're reading this." You legitimately (AKA, really, truly with all honesty) have to tag 10 people

10 things about me
1.  Bay never listens to me when I try to tell her that cameras are following us and that we're on TV.  But we are.  WE ARE, I TELL YOU.

2.  I'm petite and cute and harbor absolutely no Napoleonic delusions of grandeur whatsoever.  That is not an army of Frenchmen assembling on your front lawn.  That is just a very large garden party.  That happens to like cheese, wine, and French-made artillery.

3.  I graduated from college with a degree in English.  My minor may or may not have been ass-kicking.

4.  I'm currently in graduate school for book publishing.  Because that's the best career choice ever these days.

5.  I'm a Spaniard who is not left-handed.

6.  I like all things your average girl enjoys.  I like kittens, cute accessories, long walks on the beach, blackmailing the weak and gullible, world domination, and chocolate truffles.

7.  When I graduate, I want to be an acquisitions editor.  Or the dictator of a small country, backed by an army composed completely of genetically altered penguins.  Whichever is more financially reasonable.

8.  I'm the Ramona Flowers of jobs.  I have more than I care to admit, and at least one of them may involve ex-coworkers with vegan powers.

9.  I admire TVTropes in part because it taught me a lot about pop culture and in part because, due to its ability to take over the internet via controlling the minds of the weak and driving them to spend every waking moment of their lives worshiping everything its editors say, I consider its creators to be equals in terms of masters of humanity.

10.  I know where in the world Carmen Sandiego is.  Nightly.  If you know what I mean.

Questions From Bay
1. Favorite song at the moment?
I guess at this point, I actually have to be serious.  So I'm going to say it sort of changes daily.  I don't really have a favorite song as much as I do a favorite playlist.  Which is half my iPod.  But among my favorites are "Canon Rock" by Funtwo, "Rainbow Connection" by Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, and generally any other cover that you can headbang to.

2. Pizza or Chinese food?
Chinese.  It's marginally healthier, and as a result, I feel less guilty about having half my weight in it on any given night.

3. If there's one book you want to be adapted into a movie/tv series/musical, etc., what would it be and why?
The Andromeda Strain:  The Musical.  Oh, like you don't think it'd be fitting to describe lethal diseases born from extraterrestrial pathogens via full-ensemble musical numbers.

Seriously, if we include comics, going to have to say that Creature Tech (Doug TenNapel -- look it up) needs to be made into a Saturday morning cartoon.  It's got everything a kid would eat up:  aliens, romance, action, edgy themes.  Only downside is that may just be a kid from the 90's.  I mean, I know I would have eaten that shit up, and I grew up watching things like Cybersix and the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon.  Besides Adventure Time, I have no idea about the tastes of you kids these days.

4. When you write/draw, do you prefer paper, computer, or both?
Honestly, both.  It's easier to edit my work via computer, but paper-and-pen was the original no-distraction program.  I get distracted too easily if I work on a computer, really.

5. Favorite animal?
Fish, cats, squirrels, octopi.  Not necessarily in any particular order.  You ever see baby versions of these things?  Prepare to melt from the adorable!

6. What's your greatest achievement you had accomplished?
Graduating from college, getting into one of the best grad schools for media arts in the country, scoring a position on the staff of a nationally acclaimed institution-based literary magazine, working for one of the best medical centers in the country over the summer... I could really go on and on.

7. Funniest moment?
The time when the fire alarm was set off.  Senior year of college.  Sci-fi group held a potluck, where a bunch of us commandeered a student event house to cook and hang around each other.  Somewhere along the way, one of the dishes set off the fire alarm, which resulted in all of us evacuating and the city fire department coming in to check things out.  The part that was the most hilarious was the president's reaction when she realized I was filming the whole thing.

Then there was the time when my high school friends and I went to this department store, and one of my friends started trying on all of the accessories.  At once.

8. Snow or rain?
Rain.  Here's the thing about snow.  It looks pretty for the entire month of December when it's not hellishly cold.  Then, when February rolls around and the snow is still everywhere, you're just about tired of it.  Rain happens when it's still not hellishly cold, and it only sticks around for an afternoon.  Couple of weeks if it floods, sure, but not as long as several months.  And then, snow can still flood you, so while you're looking out at your nine feet of it, you're thinking, "This spring is going to suck."

Tl;dr, rain, bitches.

9.  Favorite childhood game/toy you had played?
I used to be into that whole Tamagotchi phase because I was a massive girlie-girl, believe it or not.

10.  What are some goals you want to accomplish before you die?
Half the reasons why I'm in grad school.

Questions From Me
1.  Which accent do you find the sexiest?
2.  Congratulations!  You've captured James Bond!  How did you do it?
3.  If you could meet any fictional character to hang out for a day, who would it be, and where would you go?
4.  You're the physical embodiment of an abstract quality!  What is it?
5.  If a strange alien ferret-like thing came up to you and told you you could have any wish you could ever desire granted in exchange for (having your soul ripped out and) becoming a magical girl, what would you wish for?
6.  What kind of magical girl powers would you have?
7.  Favorite YouTube video.  And go!
8.  Tumblr.  Your thoughts on it.
9.  If you had the opportunity to live in any anime universe, which one would you choose and why?
10.  Where's your favorite place to hang out online besides dA?  I could use some recs.

Although I could very well tag ten people, I just don't feel like it right now.

*whips on a pair of sunglasses*  Deal with it.

Been lurking lately.  Slowly coming back from a hiatus after real life went ololololno.  AEM is going through a rewrite, and there's about nineteen chapters now to go through and post.  So, there's that coming up soon.

Plus, if I haven't gotten to thank people yet for being awesome and favoriting or whatnot, I'll probably have to do that soon, too.  Or maybe this'll be enough.

In any case... yeah.  Hi again!

So, um, I've got a whole stack of comments to get to and I totally haven't been shirking uploading more chapters of AEM... or, well, anything else.  Truth is, life kinda happened, and between bouncing all over the country and flailing over one thing or another, I'm only just now really getting a chance to sit down and do something.  Maybe.

But mostly, this entry is to tell you about my shiny new commissions line.  Basically, yeah, I'm kinda at a screwy point in my life, so I've decided to open up writing commissions for anyone who happens to be following and would like to donate.  You can read more about it (and find the shiny button that goes with it) here:  aztecravemonkey.livejournal.co…

Any little bit would seriously help, and I'll respond to your request as quickly as I can.
